The Micro Small Enterprises (MSE) Coir, Khadi & Village Industries sector are facing heavy competition from the large scale enterprises to supply their products to Public Sector Enterprises, Govt. Departments, and Ministries. To accommodate the Small scale sector as suppliers of Large scale PSUs Ministries and departments, Government of India has introduced a Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) Order, 2012 which is notified under MSMED Act 2006. The policy, mandates that every Central Ministries, Departments, Central PSUs shall set an annual goal for procurement from the MSE sector from the 1st April 2012 with objective of achieving an overall procurement of minimum 20 % of their total annual purchases value from products produced I services rendered by MSEs within a period of three years. Policy has also earmarked 4% share out of this 20% Procurement from MSEs owned by SC/ST entrepreneurs.

As this policy have been made Mandatory by Govt. of India by April 2015. The PSUs and departments are in search of MSEs manufacturing the outsourced products for their requirements. To achieve this MSME sectors are to showcase their capabilities in front of large scale public sectors. The Kerala Government also notified the policy.

MSME Development Institute, Thrissur is offering an opportunity to the MSEs and Large Scale PSUs, by organising an Industrial Exhibition cum Business to Business Meet on 16th & 17th of December 2013 at the premises of this institute to display their products and requirements.

MSE sector may utilize this opportunity to display their capabilities in front of the large scale Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and register as a vendor. Also the Public sector undertaking can identify suitable vendors and suppliers for their outsourced products and achieve the mandatory requirements as per the Public Procurement Policy 2012.
